Did you know that green, yellow, and red bell peppers are not all the same vegetables? These three types of bell peppers are unique plants and have their own seeds. Similarly, there are various types of cuisine that can seem similar but are unique in their own right.

By now, you already have a favorite Chinese or Italian restaurant, but there are so many options available it isn’t always easy to pick a new one to try. Luckily this guide is here to help you explore them.

Keep reading to find out more about different types of cuisine.

Vietnamese Cuisine

Vietnamese food is a reflection of the culture, it strives for a balance. Vietnamese food will generally focus on the mix of spicy, sour, bitter, salty, and sweet. These dishes incorporate five colors and appeal to all five senses.

In Vietnamese dishes, you will generally find fresh herbs such as mint, coriander, chili, and basil, while dairy and oil will rarely be used. Pho is one of the most popular dishes and can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This dish consists of rice noodle soup with a uniquely seasoned broth.

Mexican Cuisine

Fish, chicken, and pork are the main meats used, and tropical fruits accompany most dishes.

Indian Cuisine

India has various regions, and the food differs from region to region however, there are some commonalities between them all. Beef is particularly rare, so it is less likely that you’ll find an authentic Indian beef dish, but the variation in vegetarian dishes is a well-known feature of the cuisine.

The complexity of flavors and spices is a characteristic of Indian cuisine, on average, a dish will contain at least seven different ingredients. Some flavors that are commonly found in Indian cuisine are; cumin, cardamom, cayenne, coriander, cloves, and chili.
