DirecTV 3D Channel Arriving In 2010

DirecTV 3D Channel

DirecTV has announced plans to launch a 3D channel in 2010 that will feature top quality 3D programming to users with the correct hardware.

The channel will be the first in the United States to offer 3D technology and will arrive via a new satellite the company expects to launch in early 2010.

The channel will feature sports, movies and other various content in full HD 3D. Then again it is DirecTV and if the service works as good as my DirecTV satellite service users will only be able to enjoy 3D programming when it’s working in perfectly clear skies with not a single overcast cloud to compete with.

No word yet as to whether another special converter will be required or what 3D displays will be able to utilize the new technology. [SlashGear]
