Financially speaking, things may have become worse for actor Nicolas Cage, if that’s possible. His ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, slapped a $13 million lawsuit on him for allegedly failing to sign over the title of a Los Angeles home to her. Instead he’s trying to evict her and put the house on the market. Fulton, the mother of Cage’s 18-year-old son, is suing for “mental, physical and emotional abuse” because Cage’s alleged negligence caused her to get in hock to the IRS for $1 million. She also claims Cage backed out on reimbursing her for $250,000 in credit card bills.
Despite being one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors, Cage himself may be broke and considering bankruptcy to fend off creditors who are coming after him. According to CNN, this apparent international shop-a-holic “brought about his own financial ruin with a spending spree that included two castles, 15 palatial homes, a flotilla of yachts and a squadron of Rolls Royces, his former business manager said.”
Cage is also suing the ex-business manager for allegedly mismanaging his money. The manager, who is suing Cage right back, claims, that he warned Cage over and over that despite his big movie paydays, he was living beyond his means.
The actor is trying to sell off many of his properties to get cash to pay his debts, including the over $6 million in back taxes owed to the IRS. Cage has appeared in over 60 films, including the two popular National Treasure movies, and won the Best Actor Oscar for his role in Leaving Las Vegas.
