Google today unveiled the new Google Real Time Search engine which provides “real-time searches” from Twitter, allowing for faster updates for top stories and happenings around the web.
The search engine keeps true to Google search, while embedding a window that dynamically updates users with search results from around the web as they occur with no need to reload the page. Users can also choose to backtrack to look at updates they may have missed.
The new search engine also provides a “Latest” option which can show just real-time search results if chosen by the user, a nice option for getting rid of static search results, while providing up to the second tidbits of information.
Personally however my favorite part of the program was the ability to mashup Twitter, News Sites, Blogs and other online sources all into one page, creating a cornucopia of information from various trusted and non-static sources for a more full experience.
Google has also announced that Facebook and MySpace have signed on with the search giant to bring user updates to real-time searches. Although we assume this will only pertain to non-private set accounts.
See the image above for an example, or visit here to try the new search engine out for yourself.
