The holiday season could be very good to future iPhone 3GS buyers. Recent rumors are pointing to a $99 iPhone 3GS just in time for the holiday buying season.
Apparently Apple is beginning to toy with the idea of a cheaper 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS after recent attacks by Verizon and their Motorola Droid Smartphone and the recently released $99 HTC Eris Droid surfaced.
While an 8GB version would cut the minimum 16GB iPhone 3GS memory in half, the price tag at $100 less than the 16GB model may be a great way for Apple to bring in new customers looking to upgrade their loved ones over the Christmas holiday.
The upgrade would also price the 8GB version at the same price as the iPhone 3G, while providing video recording capabilities, a built-in digital compass and voice control among other 3GS upgrades. [SlipperyBrick]
Again, it’s still just a rumor, but it’s a rumor we really hope is true.
