While still not confirmed by Lenovo, internet rumors are beginning to swirl that suggests a January 5th 2010 release date for the Lenovo ThinkPad X100E Netbook. There’s even a tagline “Entry level ultra portable, the first ThinkPad of its size.”
ThinkPadToday released a photo of the X100e which they think will be featured in a black casing, opposed to earlier “leaked” photos with a white casing, a move that would keep the continuity of the original ThinkPad series, just in a smaller size.
A few specs have also bee spotted with different configuration, including an AMD Athlon 1.6GHz Neo Processor with an ATI Radeon HD3410 GPU and an Intel Centrino 2 ULV 1.4GHz processor setup with an Intel GMS 4500MHD GPU.
Regardless of CPU and graphical setup users will also be looking at a 12.1 inch WXGA with 1280 x 800 pixels of resoluiton, 3GB RAM and both standard and solid state disk optoions. Users will also have the ability to pick up optional Gobi 3G abilities.
Reports are also touting an UltraBase docking station with an integrated optical drive, although those specs are still left unverified at this time. [SlashGear]
