It’s a Sesame Street world this week on Google, yesterday the Google logo featured Big Birds Legs, today the O’s have been replaced with both of Cookie Monsters eyes with a spew of cookies flying out of his mouth.
To answer everyone’s questions, Cookie Monster never became Veggie Monster, sure he did add some fruits and veggies to his diet, but he’s always kept his affinity for cookies in tow.
Here’s what the New York Times had to say about the newly updated Sesame Street and it’s characters:
The pedagogy hasn’t changed, but the look and tone of “Sesame Street” has evolved. Forty years on, this is your mother’s “Sesame Street,” only better dressed and gentrified: Sesame Street by way of Park Slope. The opening is no longer a realistic rendition of urban skyline but an animated, candy-colored chalk drawing of a preschool Arcadia, with flowers and butterflies and stars. The famous set, brownstones and garbage bins, has lost the messy graffiti and gritty smudges of city life over the years. Now there are green spaces, tofu and yoga.
Yeah it may be a different Sesame Street with a healthier Cookie Monster, but he still gets his just dessert and kids still seem to love the 40 year old show.
