Verizon Wireless won’t go the iPhone route that AT&T took when banning iPhone users from tether their devices, instead the CDMA carrier has announced that the Motorola Droid will be able to utilize their Boardband Access Connect Plan in early 2010.
If that tethering plan follows the companies standard data additions it will run at a relatively respectable $15 per month on top of the standard data plan available with the device.
For that price users would receive 5GB of monthly data, the same amount of transfer space available with their stand alone USB modem plans. While it’s not the best plan it’s better than the lack of tethering currently available to AT&T iPhone users.
Then again with Verizon Doubling Early Termination Fees one cost may offset the other. [GearLog]
