Nicole Kidman Talks About Exploring “Strange Sexual Fetish Stuff”

The 42-year-old actress, who is divorced from Tom Cruise and currently married to country singer Keith Urban, has given a revealing interview, in
which she opens up about her love life.

She admits she has always been open to experiencing different kinds of love, meaning she has been both bored and totally consumed by certain
relationships.

She told Britain’s GQ magazine: “I’ve explored obsession. I’ve explored loss and love in terms of being in a grief-stricken place, I’ve explored strange
sexual fetish stuff, I’ve explored the mundane aspect of marriage, and monogamy.”

Nicole also spoke about the passionate nature of her relationship with Keith, with who she has 14-month-old daughter Sunday Rose. Keith checked
into rehab just three-and-a-half months after his wedding to Nicole, and she admits feeling “exposed” in their marriage.

“You work on it,” she said. “It’s a very extraordinary, adventurous place to be – incredibly raw, incredibly dangerous and you’re very much out at sea.

You’re exposed. You could drown. When you commit to someone like that, you live and die together by that decision.”

Nicole refused to discuss her marriage to Tom, with who she raises children Isabella and Connor, but revealed her agents told her not to marry him in
1990. They were concerned about the effect a marriage would have on her fledgling career, but she refused to listen as she was so deeply in love.

Nicole kept diaries throughout the almost 10-year union, but set fire to them after her wedding to Keith. “If you know what is going on inside somebody’s head all the time that’s not a good place,” she said. “You can’t read somebody’s diary. You shouldn’t read it. I burnt most of my journals
after I remarried… You’re only going to find out bad things.”
