
The Android 1.6 “Donut” SDK is now officially available for Android developers, a kit that allows for CDMA device use with different resolutions and screen sizes, along with some other very cool new features.
The upgrade includes a new QuickSearch function much like the offering found on the webOS platform which allows users to use one interface to search their contacts, apps and the internet. It also offers a text-to-speech API with translation capabilities and a newly designed Android Market with a more intuitive and graphically pleasing interface.
The official Google developer blog calls for an early October release for the official ROM, exciting news considering all of the Android devices expected for release around that time.
