The Pittsburgh Steelers had an easy setup for their win in Thursday nights season opener. Ben Roethlisberger to Santonio HolmesĀ  as much as possible, followed by a 33 year field goal by Jeff Reed with only 4:32 seconds used in overtime.

That field goal gave the Pittsburg Steelers a 13-10 win over the Tennesse Titans during Thursday nights NFL season opener.

Holmes had a stellar game with nine catches for 131 yards and a touchdown, while Hines Ward made up for his nearly game ending fumble with eight catches for 103 yards.

Unfortunately the win may be slightly bitter sweet for the Steelers after their star safety Troy Polamalu left the game with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee during a blocked field goal. That injury could remove Polamalu from the lineup for 3 to 6 weeks.

The win sets the Steelers opening day streak to 7 games in a row.
