Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess are currently in negotiations to star in ‘One Day,’ an adaptation of the David Nicholls novel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lone Scherfig is set to direct the film for Focus Features.
‘One Day’ centers around two people, Dexter & Emma, who met for the first time during their 1988 graduation ceremony and kept meeting one day a year for the next 20 years. The story will track their lives and loves until the day they realize that they’re meant for each other.
Hathaway is can be on screen as the White Queen in Tim Burton’s newest Blockbuster hit ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ The Oscar-nominated actress just finished filming ‘Love & Other Drugs’ with ‘Brokeback Mountain’ co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal.
Sturgess recently finished the Peter Weir movie, ‘The Way Back’ a World War II drama with Colin Farrell and Saoirse Ronan. The ‘Across the Universe’ star is also voicing the role of Zack Snyder in the upcoming animated feature, ‘Legends of the Guardians.’
