Evanescence is coming back with a vengeance and the band is planning to take 2010 by storm with their highly anticipated third studio album, which is slated for a late August/early September release date. Lead singer, Amy Lee, has confirmed that the band will be entering the studio soon to start work on the third album. Hitting the studio with Evanescence is Grammy winning producer Steve Lillywhite.
It’s safe to say that Lee has grown as a singer and she promises that this album will be one of the “most important rock records of the year.”
“I can’t explain how excited I am to make this record,” said Amy Lee. “Over the past year and a half these songs have become the center of my life, and I can’t wait to hear what they grow into in the studio. I think our sound is evolving into something that will surprise people, in a very good way. I feel, as always, that growth can be an incredible, limitless thing if you let it. I never want to make the same album twice.”
The band, known for their huge hits like “Bring Me to Life”, “My Immortal” and “Call Me When You’re Sober”, promises to stay true to the Evanescence sound while bringing in some new sounds in order to create “another world.” Evanescence’s music’s ranges from whisper-soft to rock, Goth and classical, that’s fronted by the amazing vocals of lead singer Amy Lee.
Evanescence has sold close to 20 million albums worldwide- more than 8 million in the U.S. alone- and received two Grammy awards with their debut album “Fallen: and scored a Grammy nomination with their second album, “The Open Door.”
