Dr. Seuss Celebrates 106th Birthday (Video)

Dr. Seuss turns 106 today.  Theodore “Dr.” Seuss Geisel is one of the most beloved writers of all time. His books have entertained and informed children and adults for the past fifty years.

Today, people are celebrating Dr. Seuss by reading his books in the classroom. Read Across America is even bringing green eggs and ham, (literally) to schools across the southern coast.

Children will eat them with foxes, in boxes, with mouses, and in houses, as they celebrate books and breakfast with Read Across America.

Dr. Seuss has been around for a long time. Modern generations might not know his books as well as they know his movies.  “The Cat in The Hat,” a modern twist on “The Grinch,” and “Horton Hears a Who” have all become favorites among children. With the constantly increasing popularity of Seuss and his work, we could see personal favorites like “The Lorax,” make their way to the big screen as well.

Here is a rap video, “Wubble Down,” which celebrates the work of this literary icon.
