Stephen Curry came up big tonight for the injury-depleted Golden State Warriors. The Warriors franchise guard Monta Ellis was the most recent player on the team to go down with an injury. Stephen Curry filled in nicely for Ellis as primary ball handler and playmaker, making a debate in Golden State for who should be running the offense from here on out.
Curry demonstrated tremendous poise and leadership while playing 46 minutes. He finished with 36 points (11-22 from the field and 7-11 from downtown), 10 rebounds, 13 assists, and 3 steals. Curry snared the triple-double with his tenth rebound in the final second of the game on a missed free throw attempt by the Clippers. Meanwhile, Curry’s opposition Baron Davis, finished with 5 points on 1-12 shooting.
Even though the Warriors are playing with mostly D-Leaguers and a couple of flashy guards, they are easily one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league. If you have NBA League Pass, and like watching high scoring basketball, watch a Golden State game. Keep an eye on how Stephen Curry and the rest of the Warriors play with him dominating the ball; it could spark up some trade talk surrounding Monta Ellis if they keep winning without him.
